You and your general practice
This guide explains what you can expect from your general practice and how you can help them, so you get the best from the NHS.
It covers:
- When and how you can contact your practice
- What happens when you request an appointment
- Who might support you in your care
- How to register or change practices
- Your rights, including fair treatment and access to services
- How you can help your practice (for example, being prepared, cancelling if you can’t attend, and using online services where possible)
- How to give feedback or raise concerns
The guide also provides advice for people new to the UK, those staying away from home, and patients who may need extra help or adjustments. Translated versions of the guide are available in over a dozen languages, including Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Polish, Spanish, and Urdu
